2022 Minnesota Craft Beer Oktoberfest Calendar
Craft beer drinkers have probably been enjoying Oktoberfest Marzen and Festbiers for a while thanks to seasonal creep. However, the time for polka bands, pretzels, and the stein-clinking of Oktoberfest beers is finally here. This tradition takes on many forms, depending on where you go. However, the spirit of fun and community that has spanned centuries is alive and well all over the great state of Minnesota.
I love this time of year! In fact, last year, I wrote about my unabashed passion for a great Oktoberfest party. This year, I wanted to highlight the places, locally, where one can find an Oktoberfest celebraation. Here is a list of all the places you can find some iteration of an Oktoberfest party in Minnesota’s craft beer playground. I tried to compile as exhaustive a list as I could. If you favorite brewery is having an Oktoberfest event and is not on here, please don’t send hate mail; I tried and I do this for free. I have also tried to link to as many Oktoberfest event pages online as I could find.
If a brewery is having a fall festival where an Oktoberfest beer is available but not the focal point, it is indicated. Personally, when I am in Oktoberfest-mode, I like to drink the style. So, if a brewery is having an Oktoberfest, but there isn’t an Oktoberfest on tap, that is also indicated. Happy prosting, and I hope to see you all out in your lederhosen and your smiles. Prost!
Saturday, Sept. 10th
Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative-Minneapolis, MN
Broken Clock Brewing Cooperative’s Clocktoberfest is going from noon til they shut it down at their Northeast Minneapolis taproom. While they are not pouring an Oktoberfest, there will be some special beers on tap to put you in a festive mood.
Spilled Grain Brewhouse-Annandale, MN
This parking lot party goes from 2-11pm at their taproom in Annandale. Spilled Grain Brewhouse’s Oktoberfest is one of my favorites in Minnesota. This event is sure to be a great time and you just might see me there!
Saturday, Sept. 17th
Aegir Brewing-Elk River, MN
Aegir Brewing Company (pronounced eye-ear) will have their Oktoberfest happening starting at 11am and going until 11pm. You want to get their early because the first 200 people get a free plastic 22 oz. stein.
Back Shed Brewing-Waite Park, MN
Back Shed Brewing is one of the newer breweries in Central Minnesota and I still haven’t visited. I will eventually, but I’m not sure I will get there for their first-ever Oktoberfest event that goes from 11am-10pm.
Badger Hill Brewing-Shakopee, MN
Badger Hill’s Shaktoberfest party is featuring a 5k run, a release of Banana Stand Hefeweizen, and lots of other revelry. I don’t believe that they are releasing an Oktoberfest beer, but the event looks like a lot of fun.
Bauhaus Brew Labs-Minneapolis, MN
Bauhaus Brew Labs will have their annual Schwandtoberfest happening again this year. While I am almost embarrassed to say that I have never been to this party, if it like any of their other bashes, it is not to be missed.
LTD Brewing-Hopkins, MN
Lupulin Brewing Company-Big Lake, MN
Lupulin Brewing Company will have a bevy of special Oktoberfest beers tapping starting at 11am and going til close. This is a favorite of mine because they will typically have a Marzen and a Festbier.
