With isolation and limited ability to go outside the home, I find myself in a position (along with the rest of you) of nervousness and boredom. One can only watch so much Netflix before you develop bedsores and a stiff neck! So, I’ve set myself a challenge to play at least one board game a day during this time and if possible pair it with a good beer, wine, or cocktail. Why not! Feel free to play along. So starting today I’m on “vacation” for a week. I was supposed to be travelling to visit my sister in Asheville, NC but that plan is no more. Instead I will continue to play games of betting online you can get more info about this games at https://fantasypunter.co.uk and paint miniatures at home.

Unstable Unicorns

Yesterday’s game was Unstable Unicorns, I picked up last year on a whim at The Source Comics and Games in Roseville, MN. This is a small box card game that can be played by 2-8 people. Most games I have max out at 4-6 players, so this is a good one for larger groups.

Each player starts with a baby unicorn in their stable (on your side of the table). The goal is to be the first to get 7 unicorns in your stable. Each round you can play a card: another unicorn, buffs for your existing unicorns, negative effects on someone elses cards, etc. There is also the “Neigh!” card which allows you to cancel someone else’s play! The higher level unicorns usually have special skills which can help your play as well.

This game plays pretty quickly (especially with less players) and is a good party game. The art is fun and comic-styled. The humor is good, and this one is family friendly. And silly unicorns and even narwals abound!
