Pint Report: Witch Hunt Minneapolis & Lupulin Collab: Seeds of Change

Seeds of Change, the collaboration beer born from the creative work between Witch Hunt Minneapolis and Lupulin Brewing Company releases this Friday, February 19th at 3pm in the taproom. This beer was brewed just about a year ago and slumbered in a Sugar Bush Whiskey barrel from Vikre Distillery in Duluth, Minnesota. Seeds of Change is a 12% imperial stout infused with chilis.
A Change Will Do You Good
There are many reasons why people fear change. Change shakes the foundations of what is comfortable and disrupts the status quo. Change often puts us out of our comfort zones and into new, uncharted territory. For many, it is safer just to stay in one’s lane and not deviate from what we know.
The passionate, caring, and brave women who created Witch Hunt Minneapolis are embracing change and creating new avenues for underrepresented people in craft brewing. This work is not easy and is often met with opposition. Yet, their coven persists with the goal of making this world better.
It warms my heart to know that a portion of the proceeds of this beer will be donated to Witch Hunt Minneapolis. These resources will help them continue their mission of supporting educational development and professional pathways for marginalized individuals in the craft beer community.

From a brewing perspective, this beer is about changing what a craft beer drinker can expect from a stout infused with chilis. The use of ancho, arbol, and guajillo chilis creates a unique cornucopia of flavors. You get earthy, smokey, spicy, and savory flavors in a way that is not oppressive. The base beer is a velvety, Barry White kind of a drink. This beer has bass. This beer has body. Balancing out the modicum of heat in the beer are fantastic notes of dark chocolate, roasted malt, and a hint of vanilla and whiskey. This beer is a special treat that you are going to really enjoy.
The beer will be available for purchase online starting at 1pm on Friday, February 19th. You can pick up your bottles in the taproom at 3pm. You can come and meet several of the witches that helped brew this wonderful beer at the taproom that day. The bottles will sell for $25.00 each with no limit.
Change can be scary; I get that. However, not progressing and moving forward is also frightening because it means we stay static. I applaud Lupulin Brewing Company and Witch Hunt Minneapolis for combining their hearts, energy, and selflessness to create something for positive change. Prost!
